Steelmaking Raw Materials Department

We play a vital role in recycling of iron and steel.

Steelmaking Raw Materials Department processes and supplies iron and steel scrap to steelmakers in Japan and Asian countries as steelmaking material. In addition to collecting scrap throughout Japan to our works and stock yards, we also directly carry out large-scale structural scrapping operations, including demolition of buildings, factory facilities and large vessels. Steelmaking Raw Materials Department owns variety of sorting and processing facilities and loading berths, which enable us to offer a stable supply of steelmaking material not only in Japan but also overseas.

Kobe Works (20,513 m2), Kobe-city, Hyogo
Kobe Works owns comprehensive scrap processing facilities, and a private loading berth for marine vessels of up to 1,500 freight tons.  For larger vessels, we have a berth in Rokko Island Yard, which is available for ones up to 5,000 freight tons.

Kure Works (13,850 m2), Kure-city, Hiroshima
Kure Works also owns comprehensive scrap processing facilities.  In addition to that, it has a private loading berth and a pier for large marine vessels of up to 5,000 freight tons, which allows us to export processed scrap directly to overseas destinations.

Miyaji Salvage Co., Ltd.(25,000 m2), Kagawa
Miyaji Salvage is engaged in demolishing large vessels and processing resulted scrap into high quality steelmaking materials.

Shinko Shoji Co., Ltd.(22,000 m2), Kumamoto
Shinko Shoji not only dismantles cargo ships, but also government ships, and has a high level of technical expertise and reliability.

Ship loading berth (60 meters long, 4 meters draft, for up to1,000 freight tons)
